About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Release Manager to oversee planning, coordination, and successful delivery of software releases across the WCOM development organization.
This role ensures smooth, predictable, and high-quality releases by facilitating collaboration between engineering team, domain/platform teams, product owners, QA, operations, and stakeholders.


Key responsibilities - Assigned Tasks and Duties

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end release activities, including planning, scheduling, execution, validation, and post-release reviews.
  • Maintain the release calendar and communicate scope, timelines, dependencies, and risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor release workflow execution and intervene when blockers or escalations occur.
  • Coordinate hotfixes and urgent/emergency releases.
  • Continuously improve release, build, and deployment processes, with strong focus on automation.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tooling in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Operate and improve release and rollback measurement/reporting.
  • Monitor releases of dependent systems and coordinate with external/internal teams.
  • Propose process improvements in connected areas (e.g., change management, incident handover).
  • Facilitate release readiness meetings, go/no-go checkpoints, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure release documentation is complete and auditable (notes, approvals, rollback plans, known issues).

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in release management, software delivery, project coordination, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery preferred).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage parallel workstreams and prioritize under time pressure.
  • Familiarity with version control, build pipelines, release orchestration, and deployment automation.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and structured execution.
